An exoplanet, or extrasolar planet, is a planet in orbit around a star other than the Sun (the prefix exo signifies "beyond"in Greek). As the detection methods become increasingly sensitive, exoplanets comparable in size to the Earth are starting to be observed.
The exoplanet internet site has been developed by the Teaching and Training Unit (l’Unité de Formation et d’Enseignement) of the Observatoire de Paris. The exoplanet data base is constantly updated.
