Teaching department

As a scientific unit of Observatoire de Paris, the UFE is responsible for implementing the Institution’s training policy. The unit coordinates various training courses, both online and in-person, and supports the development of the training programmes on offer. The UFE is responsible for assigning teaching and technical staff to deliver knowledge and disseminate information.

Staff

In addition to the teachers-researchers and teachers in post or affiliated with the Observatoire de Paris, the UFE includes ten permanent or non-permanent members of staff, including engineers and technical and administrative personnel assigned to the unit.

Main activities:

The Observatoire de Paris, a Grand Établissement (EPCSP), is a founding member of Paris Sciences & Lettres University (PSL). The Observatory offers courses in Astronomy, Astrophysics and Space Technologies at all levels of higher education, and awards master’s degrees, doctorates and habilitations to supervise research. These courses and training programmes also place a strong emphasis on teacher training, sharing the knowledge and expertise developed in its laboratories, and awarding university diplomas.
