These sky maps are for the Northern hemisphere, looking towards the Southern and Northern horizons, on April 15th 2013 (23h). The vertical line is the projection on the sky of the local meridian. The red arc on the horizon represents the ecliptic (the apparent path of the Sun during the year).

In its apparent motion along the ecliptic, the Sun is accompanied by several close planets. Those which are to its East are observable at sun-set and, depending on their elongation and magnitude, at the beginning of the night, while those which are to the West are observable at the end of the night and at sun rise, under the same conditions. The following figure shows their configuration for April 15th 2013.
