The CESOP
The CESOP (Comité d’Entraide Sociale de l’Observatoire de Paris) is an association governed by an act of 1901, whose purpose is to promote, study, organize and carry out all the projects of a social, cultural and sporting nature for the personnel of the Paris Observatory.
It is administered by an administrative committee, which is elected for 3 years ; the current committee was elected at the beginning of 2018 for the period 2018-2020. It meets 3 or 4 times a year. The administrative committee elects from its members an executive committee.
The CESOP holds a general assembly every year, at which are presented to the personnel of the Observatory its annual report and its financial report.
It is composed of 8 commissions for children, holidays, trips, solidarity loans (prêts-solidarité), pensioners, coordination of the CLAS, information, statutes update.
The CESOP participates in the "commission mixte de l’Observatoire de Paris" : Exceptional Help.
Together with the CAES of the CNRS, the CESOP is responsible for the CLAS (Comité Locaux d’Action Sociale) in Paris, in Meudon, in Nançay, as well as the CLE (Centre de Loisirs Éducatifs) of the Observatory.
