Observatoire de Paris - PSL is organized around three scientific departments, three scientific services, and common services. The establishment is the secondary supervisor of four external laboratories and a member of three research federations.
The scientific departments and the Institute:
- LIRA: Astrophysics Instrumentation and Research Laboratory.
- LTE: Laboratoire Temps Espace.
- LUX: Laboratoire d’étude de l’Univers et des phénomènes eXtrèmes.
Scientific Services:
- ORN: Observatoire Radioastronomique de Nançay (Support and Research Unit).
- UFE: Unité de Formation et d’Enseignement (Training and Teaching Unit).
- UNIDIA: UNité d’Ingénierie et de Développements Instrumentaux pour l’Astrophysique (Support and Research Unit).
Secondary laboratories:
- OSUC: Observatoire des Sciences de l’Univers en région Centre.
- APC: Astroparticle and Cosmology.
- LPP: Plasma Physics Laboratory.
- LPC2E: Laboratory of Physics and Chemistry of the Environment and Space.
Research federations :
- FIRST-TF: a network of excellence (LabEx) under the “Investissements d’Avenir” program, focusing on time-frequency metrology and its applications.
- Plas@Par: a community of 150 scientists from Île-de-France gathered around an interdisciplinary federation at the frontiers of physics, astrophysics, chemical-physics and engineering sciences, with links to applied mathematics and computer science.
- Fédération Nanosats Ile de France: supported by the CNRS, it specializes in the development of scientific nanosatellite projects in Earth and Universe sciences.
