Organization of the institution

The Observatoire de Paris is a Grand Établissement whose missions and operations are defined by Decree no. 85-715 of July 10, 1985.

It is headed by a President elected for a five-year term, and administered by a Board of Directors. The President and the Board of Directors are assisted by a Scientific Advisory Board.

Its High Scientific Committee (HCS), made up of independent personalities, advises the establishment on its activities and scientific organization.

Observatoire de Paris - PSL is organized around three scientific departments, three scientific services and common services.

The Paris Observatory is made up of five departments, an institute, two scientific services, and joint services.
