The latter allows Universcience to benefit from the scientific expertise of the Observatoire de Paris-PSL in the actions that the establishment carries out for the public in the fields of astronomy and astrophysics.
The Observatoire de Paris - PSL will thus support Universcience through the participation of its researchers in the astronomy program of both the Étincelles du Palais de la découverte and the Cité des sciences et de l’industrie and in the elaboration of the future contents of the Palais de la découverte when it reopens in 2025, through the sharing of physical, digital and audiovisual resources, or through the exchange and loan of equipment
This agreement will allow the Observatoire de Paris - PSL to better promote the research it conducts by presenting to visitors the contemporary scientific challenges of the space adventure, astronomy and astrophysics.
A first event - Objectif Mars - was organized on October 21 at the Étincelles of the Palais de la découverte, with Pernelle Bernardi, engineer at the Observatoire de Paris-PSL, in charge of the development of SuperCam, one of the seven instruments of the Perseverance rover.
Other events are currently being considered for programming in 2022.
