Reliving the partial eclipse replay

23 mars 2015

Friday, March 20, 2015 there was a partial solar eclipse, 9 am 20 to 11 h 40 in Ile-de-France.

The astronomers of the Paris Observatory, one of whose missions is to monitor the Sun daily, had left their instruments to capture images from the sites of Paris and Meudon.

Unfortunately a thick cloud cover prevented any observation of the phenomenon.

Despite inclement weather in the Paris region, the effect of the eclipse there was noticeable, with the feeling of a net decrease in brightness and temperature.

The phenomenon was filmed in all its splendor, in the south-west of France at the Observatoire du Pic du Midi in the Hautes-Pyrénées : images to see the replay this rare event, which will not happen in France, with such a degree of obscuration of the sun before ... in 2026 !
