These new arrivals in the domain of space exploration are expanding rapidly. Technological precursors, forgers of new scientific ideas, additions to classical space missions, their place in the future exploration of space has yet to be found, but nevertheless many universities world-wide are joining the club and in France PSL, thanks to the CTS, is in the forefront of developments.
Part of the CTS is under the supervision of the LESIA, and in the ARIANE room the can be found the test unit "SimEnOm" which enables one to simulate the conditions of thermal space vacuum un a 1 m3 unit and is part of a network of test equipment shared by French space laboratories.
The other part, governed jointly by the labex ESEP for research and the OSAE master, consists of a computer room (PROMESS) for the multi-speciality study phases of satellite projects, enabling the installation of complex engineering systems, white rooms and experimental rooms for the experiments and the nanosatellite trial systems (VEGA room, radio centre, etc.).
This set constitutes the « space Pole » of the PSLuniversity (baptized the C2ERES, Campus & centre for study and research in space exploration) and will in the long term lead to the creation of a cursus fo the design and realization of nanosatellite projects in the space campuses of universities in the Île-de-France.
The organizers and partners which have enabled the CTS to be created are : the LESIA, the labex ESEP, the Paris Observatory, the PSL university, the CNES and the region Île-de-France.
