The PUI AAP, launched in January 2023 by the government, is part of the French research programming law and France 2030. It aims to strengthen government support for innovation as close as possible to public research laboratories, as well as the socio-economic impact of research sites.

On this occasion, the Minister visited the ESPCI Paris - PSL incubator, as well as several research units, while exchanging views with doctoral students, researchers and entrepreneurs from the PSL ecosystem.

Université PSL wins PUI call for proposals, among 24 universities

For over 10 years, PSL University has placed relations with the socio-economic world at the heart of its priorities (research partnerships, business start-ups, technology transfer, joint laboratories, industrial chairs, CIFRE theses, continuing education, etc.), and is positioning itself as a major player in innovation and the economy of tomorrow. Around 70 patent applications are filed each year within the PUI perimeter, and more than 80 start-ups are created on average.

The creation of deeptech companies is at the heart of the PSL model, and each of them can benefit from comprehensive support : maturation and technical validation, intellectual property, search for financing, business model, accommodation adapted to the technical development of deeptech projects. This business creation dynamic has already produced some remarkable successes, including Abbelight, Alice & Bob, Aqemia, Depixus, DNA Script, Energo, Hifibio, Iconeus and others. Most recently, 11 companies from within the PSL University perimeter were rewarded among the 125 winners of the French Tech 2030 call for projects.

The Pôle Universitaire d’Innovation concept is well suited to PSL University, where innovation is developed bottom-up to make the most of the diversity of its ecosystem. The creation of a PUI and its funding to the tune of 11M€ will enable us to strengthen synergies between its players, with a strategy structured around axes of consolidation and transformation.

It will enable the dynamics of our 2 ecosystem to be fully deployed in sectors as varied as cybersecurity, quantum, AI and its applications, notably in healthcare, biomedical engineering, biotherapies, energy, recycling and the cultural and creative industries", says Alain Fuchs, President of Université PSL.

To achieve these objectives, the PSL Innovation Cluster will deploy a strategy of transformation and consolidation. and consolidation strategy, the main thrusts of which - priority themes or cross-cutting issues - are are summarized in the diagram below.
